To Make Candy-ish Soap

Hello my food friends! Today i am Kat the Crafsy "Confectionist".........Yesterday, the 26th I made soap with my grandma and I think that making soap is a great passtime, and I have come to like it. I love how they look like candy every time I look at them I just want to eat them....... so tempting to eat....... Okay so this is what each one is:
(left to right) Pink and White turtle, Pink, White, and Blue Bar, Green and Yellow Turtle, Green and Yellow Frog and I am currently using a Yellow frog. Which all are scented Peppermint. Making soap is basiclly easy to make and all that you need is:
  • The Soap mold
  • Glycerin soap clear and white.( I prefer clear because it looks soo much like candy, TIP: If you use a 3-layer using white, white, clear.)
  • A spray bottle of rubbing alchohol
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Fragrance and dye

What you need to do is melt the glycerin for about 10- 20 seconds per 2x3 in bar. As soon as you take it out of the microwave add the fragrance and color. Stir them pour into molds. Spray rubbing alchohol over the top, and let it sit. To take it out turn the mold upside-down and tap the mold and it sould pop out. Wrap the soap in plastic wrap to preserve it. I heard that you can take the scrap of soap that you end up throwing away , melt it in a pot with water and pour into mold do the same as above. I tried it (sorry I don't have pictures...) and it worked I just had to freeze it to get it out of the mold. It worked though.

Well farewell, my crafty creators! Untill next time....................

Mai Adventures In Macarons! Part 1

Hello my food friends!, this is Kat the injured Confectionist. Yes, injured. Today I burned my left index finger an I prefer not to tell how, because I fear it is too embarrassing. So I am typing single-handedly and I am having a hard time with it.........Rats! I am also embarrassed about this batch too, because as you see this was a bad batch as the foot oozed out.......and here is why: I wanted to see how my Macarons were doing, and they had risen perfectly and had perfect 'feet'. So then I closed my oven and apparently I colsed it too hard that it 'disrupted' the baking and no sooner that I did I took them out and as seen in the picture above the feet oozed out. I am still yet to make an exact batch. Although this time it was my fault for 'disrupting them........ but if I wouldn't of done that the macarons would of been perfect, because as seen in online tutorials and tasting a pro's the batter was perfect, and they had the exact texture. So I will try again....and again. ( Sorry I have no pic of the stiffness of the meringue it wouldn't upload)

Oatmeal Rasin Cookies! Part 2

Ahhhhhh...........I am fully-rested and ready for cookies. So as you may remember I was falling asleep at my computer. ( Is that the right term?) Anyway, here is what I did:

To make the batter I creamed the butter and sugar well, then I added the egg and mix well. Then add flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Make sure the ingredients are fully incorporated. Add the oats and raisins. The cookie dough should be very sticky. Then use a tablespoons onto the baking sheets and bake for 15 min. at 375 take out and let cool. This recipe Makes about 24 cookies ( 2 dozen cookies.)

Batter in the bowl

The texture of the oatyness

Measuring the cookie

The sizing of the oatyness

Risking the expolsion of my camera to view inside the oven. (just kidding)

The finished product!

Well my food friends happy baking!

Today I decided to make Oatmeal Raisin Cookies for my dad because he has been asking me to make some since I got a stand mixer, so I finally did.
